Newsletter from the Director April-2023 / Carta de la Directora Abril-2023

Dear AIS Community,

Our gratitude goes out to the families that donated food and to the 6th Grade Class for organizing our Annual International Luncheon. We hosted more than 300 attendees. It is a great joy to celebrate our cultural diversity every year, and it is wonderful to watch our students and parents raising the flags from 45 different countries during the Parade of the Nations.

Our Model UN team participated in the LIMUN 2023 event and earned 10 distinctions, including two Best Delegate Awards for Natalie Revaz and Emily Wu. Congratulations to the team and their faculty advisors!

The 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students enjoyed and learned a lot about the customs and traditions of our indigenous groups during their recent visit to the Quitirrisí Reserve.

In April we will be competing in the AASCA Entrepreneurship and Sportsmanship Tournaments, in addition the Women’s Volleyball Team is playing in the Action Tournament and the students of the RF7 Men’s Soccer Team U13-Division are participating in the Interfiliales Tournament, we wish them all great success. Go falcons!

Soon we will share updates about the projects that are being conducted at school and were presented by our students and teachers during their trips to Qatar this year:

  • Generation Amazing: aims to use sports to improve the opportunities of children at social risk. For this project we are working
together with CONCACAF and we will benefit the children of the Roble Alto Community,
  • Global Innovation Summit: ecological and environmental responsibility initiatives in accordance with our Bandera Azul program.
Both projects are led by students, supported by advisory teachers in the areas of Sport and Environmental Sciences.
We remind you of the Ordinary Assembly of Associates scheduled for Thursday, May 11th, 2023 at 6:30 pm. Immediately after this,
an Extraordinary Assembly will be held with the intention of implementing revisions to the association’s bylaws.
