Dear AIS Community,
We thank you for your support to the 12th grade class with donations for our Thanksgiving Luncheon. Our gratitude goes also to Ms. Dylana and other staff members who dedicated their time and effort to making this event happen.
We congratulate the 5th grade and 9th grade Honors Science students (and educators) for their participation in the Climate Action Project 2021. They collaborated with delegates from 144 other countries and proudly represented Costa Rica. As you know, AIS is in the process of accreditation as a UNESCO School, and these actions are part of our work in order to meet the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
6th Grade Santagrams will be available for sale starting November 30th. This is a nice way to send a Christmas greeting to your friends!
We made a small adjustment to the school uniform: the polo shirt can be combined with denim pants (jeans), as long as they comply with the color and allowed regulations. Thus, the official uniforms are:
1) Polo shirt with khaki or navy-blue pants / shorts / skirt
2) Physical Education T-shirt with black or navy-blue pants / shorts
Dress regulations are found in the Student Handbook, if you have any questions please contact your Principal.

– Thu-25 through Mon-29 Nov: School will be closed due to the Holidays: Thanksgiving (USA) and Abolition of the Army (CR)

– Fri 03-Dec @ all day: NHS Dress Down / Field Trip 4th – 5th and 6th grades
– Fri 03-Dec @ pm: Afterschool Ends. However, Soccer and MS/HS Basketball will continue training for a few days
– Mon 06-Dec @ 09:00am: Holiday Assembly, limited in-person seats, event will be streamed via social media
– Mon 06-Dec through Fri 10-Dec: Final Exams for the Semester (Middle School and High School)
– Tue 07-Dec @ 09:00am: Marketing Committee, monthly meeting, online
– Wed 08-Dec @ 02:00pm: Strategic Committee, bimonthly meeting, online
– Wed 08-Dec @ 06:30pm: Board of Directors, monthly meeting, online
– Fri 10-Dec @ 08:30am: Finance Committee, monthly meeting, online
– Fri 10-Dec @ TBD: Christmas Celebration for Elementary Students, all students dismissed at 12 noon
– Tue 14-Dec @ 11:00am: School and offices will close at 11am due to Christmas Lunch for staff
– Sat 18-Dec through Sun 02-Jan: School and offices closed, vacation time for the staff.
